| General | | | Biker Rival Charged In Murder Of Hells Angel | Posted by phrawgh | One day after a bizarre shooting in Vaughan left a member of the Hells Angels biker club dead at a local strip club, information is becoming available about the man charged with his murder. Police spent Sunday combing for clues outside Pro Club, where David Buchanan was killed early Saturday at his 32nd birthday party. Some fear the incident could be proof of a growing turf war across the province.
Late Saturday, Frank Lenti, Pro Club manager and full member of The Bandidos biker club, was arrested in connection with the shooting, which also wounded two other Hells Angels members, one of whom remains in serious condition.
Lenti's motives aren't clear at this point, but both men are said to have been major players in the biker scene. Police are wondering what Buchanan and his group were doing at a rival club in the first place.
"Obviously that's something we'll be determining over the course of the investigation, and it is early in the investigation," said York Regional Police Chief Armand La Barge.
Police are now reviewing surveillance video from the scene, while they go over the somewhat lengthy history of Lenti's involvement in the biker world.
The 59-year-old has been linked to several other biker clubs over the last 30 years, and made headlines in 1995 when he was almost killed in a car bombing.
Lenti is charged with second-degree murder, attempted murder and weapons offences in Saturday's incident. He appeared in court Sunday morning and remains in custody prior to his second appearance, which will be Monday.
"Obviously we'll look at the impact of him being in custody and off the street and we'll be looking at the broader implications," said La Barge.

Team officials did not release Roethlisberger`s condition but confirmed to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette the player had been hospitalized. A witness said Roethlisberger was bleeding from a head injury.
The witness told the newspaper the motorcycle hit a car as it was turning left onto Pittsburgh`s 10th Street Bridge. The quarterback was thrown onto the car, hit the windshield and then the ground.
Roethlisberger, who reportedly liked to ride his bike without wearing a helmet, had been at odds with Steele Coach Bill Cowher regarding his motorcycle riding, the Post-Gazette said.
| General | | | "Roadrage with the Big Schwag" | Posted by | Hi, I’m a pretty avid reader of this forum and I found something I thought you would be interested in. It’s a new show on Mag Rack, which is an on demand television network. The show is called “Road Rage with The Big Schwag”. “Road Rage” is hosted by Brett “The Big Schwag” Wagner himself and in the series he is going to do everything from gritty lessons on how to navigate Xtreme off-road conditions to a look at custom choppers and hot rods. Off-road biking legend Uwe Diemer and stunt man Monte Perlin will be making appearances on the show. It should be intense show because “Road Rage” is taking high torque to the next level with futuristic jet bikes, the fastest trikes to hit the pavement and a vehicle that requires three hands to drive. The show started on May 25th, and I definitely recommend d checking it out. | |

| General | | | Fuel cell motorcycle unveiled in Tokyo | Posted by phrawgh | If you’re itching to own a fuel cell vehicle, you might not have to wait as long as you thought or spend as much as you expected. As long as you don’t mind riding a motorcycle, that is. British company Intelligent Design has unveiled the ENV, a hydrogen powered motorcycle, at the Tokyo Fuel Cell Expo this week. It looks a bit futuristic and not necessarily in a good way, but you wouldn’t buy this thing for looks. You would buy it because you love the environment and you like the fact that the ENV is completely silent when it runs. You’d also buy it because you like the fact that the fuel cell can be removed and taken into the house to power your computer, TV or granola maker.
If you are sold on the ENV and want one of your own you still have an 18 month wait ahead of you. When they are available, though, it should cost you less than $10,000.

Both Schwarzenegger and his son were treated for cuts and bruises at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica and released, Thompson said. Both were wearing helmets at the time, she said.
The other driver was uninjured.

When Honda puts the first air bag on a production motorcycle next summer, it will be seen as more than just a safety innovation. The motorcycle with the air bag, a Honda Gold Wing with all sorts of premium upgrades, will likely sell for $23,000 to $25,000. | General | | | Obviously against helmet laws... | Posted by phrawgh | SANTA ROSA Santa Rosa police investigators believe suicide was behind the death of a motorcyclist whose body was discovered Wednesday after she went missing last week.
Melinda Moore's motorcycle was found on a rocky beach three miles south of Fort Bragg on state Highway 1. Moore's body was found halfway down an 800-foot cliff at that location.
"We had a Sebastopol citizen call us yesterday and say, 'I've found this helmet and glove,'" said Lt. Jerry Briggs of the Santa Rosa Police Department. "We sent a detective out to look at the helmet and it had markings consistent with what we understood her helmet to look like."
Briggs said investigators searched the area and found Moore's body.
According to Briggs, investigators believe Moore placed the helmet and gloves by the side of the road and then drove her motorcycle off the cliff.
"In the initial reports that came out reporting her missing, she had told some people that she was depressed," said Briggs. "She had gotten down over some things in her life that weren't going so well."
Briggs said investigators still had not found any evidence of how fast Briggs was driving and there was no indication that she braked before hitting the edge.
Moore's next-of-kin have been identified, but no memorial services had been scheduled as of Thursday.

Mitchell, a retired social worker, had been on the computer just minutes before he left but did not say anything to his wife to indicate that anything was wrong or that his departure was anything other than a late-night ride.
